Comparing Peptide Brands: A Worksheet That Removes the Guesswork

A peptide brand comparison only works when every candidate is scored on the same nine columns, in the same sitting, with the price normalised. Evaluating brands one at a time is how good design beats good evidence: you read a polished storefront, feel reassured, and never notice that the plainer competitor publishes more. Side by side, that inversion becomes visible in about twenty minutes.

Why comparison beats evaluation

Judging a single brand means judging it against an imagined standard, and the imagined standard adjusts itself to whatever you are looking at. Three candidates side by side supply the standard for free.

Comparison also exposes the fields nobody fills in. When two brands state a purity threshold and the third does not, the omission stops looking like a design choice and starts looking like an answer.

And it fixes the anchoring problem. Buyers who ask what the best peptide brand is usually mean "is this one acceptable", which is a question the storefront in front of them is optimised to answer yes.

The nine columns

One row per candidate. Score each column 0, 1 or 2, where 0 is absent, 1 is present but incomplete, and 2 is complete and checkable.

#ColumnWhat a 2 looks likeWeight
1Accountable entityRegistered name, address, human contact route1x
2Certificate disciplinePer lot, issuing lab named, method named, dated2x
3Lot reconciliationDocument, product page and physical label all agree2x
4Specification completenessMilligrams per vial, fill, storage guidance, purity threshold1x
5Your independent resultAgrees with their published figure, lab you chose3x

7Terms and remedyWritten policy for out of specification stock, freight allocated2x
8Payment recourseAt least one route with a real dispute path1x
9Normalised priceCost per milligram of labelled content, delivered1x

Columns one to four and seven to nine are free. Columns five and six cost money and carry the heaviest weights, which is the whole design: the expensive columns are the only ones the brand did not write.

Score before you rankFill every cell before you look at any total. Deciding the winner first and then scoring is the default human behaviour here, and it produces a worksheet that agrees with whatever you already believed.

Weighting and scoring

Multiply each score by its weight and total the row. The maximum is 32, and the number itself matters less than the shape of the gap between candidates.

Two hard rules override the total. First, a zero in column three ends the candidacy regardless of everything else, because a brand that cannot reconcile a lot number cannot trace a problem later. Second, no candidate is comparable to another until both have been through columns five and six, since paper only scores are all claims and claims are cheap.

Adjust the weights to your situation rather than treating them as fixed. An operator reselling under their own label should weight six higher still, because their complaint rate is driven by consistency far more than by any single clean result.

Price without the packaging games

Headline price is close to meaningless across brands because the units are not comparable. Normalise before you compare, and do it in this order.

  1. Convert to cost per milligram of labelled content, using the specification on the product page.
  2. Add shipping at the quantity you would actually order, not at whatever threshold triggers free freight.
  3. Add cold chain or handling surcharges where they apply.
  4. Add import charges and broker fees if the parcel crosses a border into your country.
  5. Add your incoming testing cost, spread across the units that a single test covers.
  6. Add an allowance for rework: replacement of stock that fails your incoming check, if their terms make that your cost.

Steps five and six are the ones every peptide price comparison website leaves out, and they routinely reverse the ranking. Our breakdown of what analytical testing costs covers how to spread that figure across an order sensibly.

Also treat any price far below the market band as a data point about process rather than a bargain. Something was removed to get there, and analysis is the cheapest thing to remove.

Running it in one sitting

  1. Pick three or four candidates. Names can come from anywhere, including ranked lists, forums and assistants.
  2. Open every candidate in tabs and fill columns one to four and seven to nine in one pass, brand by brand, column by column.
  3. Pull three certificates per candidate from different products and confirm they are genuinely different documents.
  4. Normalise price using the six step method above and record the working, not only the result.
  5. Order one unit from the top two as an ordinary customer, with no wholesale introduction.
  6. Send both for independent analysis, fill column five, and re-total.
  7. Repeat column six on a later lot before committing volume, then keep the sheet with dates on it.

One caution on names harvested from rankings, this site included. Our board is ordered by bid amount, starting at $5, and every page says so. Position is an input to your candidate list and never an input to a score.

FAQ

What should a peptide brand comparison actually measure?

Nine things, scored the same way for every candidate: accountable entity, certificate discipline, lot reconciliation, specification completeness, your own independent result, lot to lot consistency, written terms with a remedy, payment recourse, and a normalised price. Anything outside those nine is either a proxy for one of them or is marketing, and marketing is precisely what a worksheet is built to neutralise.

Is there a peptide price comparison website worth using?

Use them for collecting listings, not for conclusions. Aggregators rarely normalise for content per unit, shipping, cold chain surcharges, import charges or minimum order thresholds, and many carry affiliate links that influence which listings appear at all. Pull the raw prices, then normalise them yourself to a cost per milligram of labelled content delivered to your door.

Why do compound specific searches not have a clean answer?

Queries that pair a compound name with best brand, in the style of bpc-157 peptide best brand, assume that brand quality is uniform across a catalogue. It often is not. A brand can be strong on one line and weak on another because different products come from different upstream sources. Run the worksheet on the specific product you intend to buy, not on the brand in general.

Does a collagen peptide brand comparison work the same way?

No, and the two categories get confused constantly in search. Questions about the best collagen peptide brand are about a consumer food supplement sold under food labelling rules, with different disclosure requirements and different verification routes. The structure of a worksheet still helps, but the columns change. Do not carry conclusions from one category into the other.
